Flawless Ivy Nelson (A Diamond Doms Novel, #8) Publication date: July 27th 2021 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Matthew Bruce has a lot of secrets. He’s legally married to royalty, he’s in love with his wife’s little sister, and he’s not really dead like everyone thinks. To top it all off, it turns out his recently deceased grandfather was part of the international underground organization his friends at Club Solitaire have been tracking down.
Faking his death hadn’t been part of the plan, and having Kendall Livingston, his wife’s sister, track him down most definitely wasn’t in the plans.
Now he has to keep them both safe and keep Kendall out of his bed.
Ivy Nelson is an emerging contemporary romance author, hopeful romantic, and passionate advocate who is versed in all things steamy, sultry, and sensual. It all started back when she read her first steamy romance novel at the age of fourteen. From that point forward, it became her favorite genre--one she wanted to write in herself someday. Sylvia Day's writing style cemented that passion, and gave her just the inspiration she needed to be an author herself. In December of 2018, Ivy published her debut novel, Power Desired at the age of 32.
Most recently, Ivy completed the "D.C. Power Games" series and the prequel to her forthcoming "Diamond Doms series" titled "Hard" (currently available for pre-order). In a not-so-distant past, she was a student affairs professional at a university and earned her political science degree, which explains her politically-driven romance debut.
When she isn't penning steamy scenes or attending writing conferences, you can find this contest-winning karaoke singer and bookworm passionately supporting human rights or growing her Sims 4 empire. She is also a wine aficionado and certified whiskey taster (no really, she has the certificate to prove it). All that aside, Ivy loves spending quality time with her amazing son and husband of three years at their home in Houston, TX.
Hudson Higgins had fond memories of Boggy Creek from his childhood. So what better place to escape New York City for a few weeks to finish up a book that was nearing deadline than the small town in New Hampshire his parents visited nearly every summer. What he couldn't have known was how his life would be turned upside down when he walked into Greer Larson's bookstore his first day in town. Greer Larson lived a quiet life in her hometown of Boggy Creek. She had worked nearly her whole adult life to make her dreams of owning her bookstore come true--and now, Turning Pages was her everything. She lived, eat, and breathed the success of owning her own business. That is, until a stranger came to town and showed Greer that there was more to life than simply working. A friendship between Greer and Hudson quickly formed over their love of books and the outdoors. When Greer's bookstore is threatened, Hudson soon realizes he hasn't simply fallen for the charm of Boggy Creek and Greer, he'd fallen in love...with both the town, and the woman who stole his heart from the moment she first smiled at him. Playing with Words is book two in the Boggy Creek Valley series and is a stand alone novel.

Excerpt:
I’ve just hit the button for the twentieth floor when a black stiletto and an exquisitely shaped leg stops the elevator from closing.
My eyes get snagged on her curves and the blonde hair that falls like a lemon paradise over the front of her black suit. And up to the hateful eyes that are shooting venom at me.
“You.” She spits it out like I’m a bad taste in her mouth.
She wishes.
I fold my arms and stare at the woman who has become the bane of my existence since the day I first saw her on another elevator. In another building. The last building my brothers and I renovated.
She folds her arms and stares at me with the same disdain I’m throwing her way.
“Is it really my curse to be stuck in elevators with you for the rest of my life? Not to mention my favorite pub ... and holidays with my family?” My words are crisp and to the point.
She scoffs at me. Scoffs. Her perfect red lips are shaped in the foulest scowl known to man.
“Old Solemn,” she says.
Her ignorant nickname for me.
I roll my eyes.
“It appears you are stuck with me, yes. As long as you’re living in the same building as my BFF,” she says, looking down at her nails as if they’re more important than me. They match her lips. “It seems your brother and my Mya are going strong, so—” she shrugs, “you’ll have to get used to this face. Sorry. Not sorry.” Her eyes brighten and I know she’s going for the kill. “Can’t handle the heat, get out of the fire.”
I’m happy my little brother Jesse is in love and all that shit, but since his girlfriend comes attached to this spoiled wench in a supermodel disguise who chooses every opportunity to snipe at me, it has created a complication.
I don’t like complications.
“She-devil,” I say under my breath.
Her eyes narrow. “Stay on your side of the elevator,” she snaps.
I shake my head as we go up, the floors creeping slower than a sloth trying to stand up.
“Not a problem.” I stare straight ahead. “Although you certainly didn’t mind when w—”
Her hand flies across the elevator and covers my mouth. “Stop. Right. There. We agreed that was a one-off that shall not be named.”

A brand new firefighter series from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!
He’s my new roommate.
I can’t stand him, and he can’t stand me.
Russell Dane thinks he’s all that. Maybe’s he’s so hot he should come with a too-hot-to-handle sign, but he drives me crazy. Not the good kind of crazy either.
He thinks women shouldn’t be firefighters, he’s obnoxiously overprotective, and I can’t stand him. Unfortunately, my body is not getting the memo, but I’m stronger than a few confused hormones. Right?
It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t have to work together, and if he wasn’t my boss. It definitely wouldn’t be so bad if he hadn’t gone and kissed me.
Russel & Paisley’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, sassy tomboy heroines, roommate romance, frenemies to lovers, hate to love, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of steam and swoon, and a broody, protective hero.
USA Today Bestselling Author J. H. Croix lives in a small town in the historical farmlands of Maine with her husband and two spoiled dogs.
Croix writes steamy contemporary romance with sassy women and rugged alpha men who aren't afraid to show some emotion. Her love for quirky small-towns and the characters that inhabit them shines through in her writing.
Take a walk on the wild side of romance with her bestselling novels!
She saw his picture—his smile, the rugged line of his jaw, the way the man could fill out a suit, and like an idiot, she fell a bit in love with him.
Idiot because no one ever really looked like their profile pic. Idiot also because if the man did look like his profile pic then he certainly wasn’t going to be into a science geek who binged old Sci-Fi shows on the regular, and whose longest relationship was with her golden retriever named Fred.
But in a night of drunken insanity, she swiped right on the picture she’d been drooling over for months.
Then in a morning of hangover unpleasantness, she saw that he’d swiped right, too.
And suddenly, she found herself on a date with the man of her dreams.
The only question was whether or not he lived up to them.

BLURB: Welcome to the Atlanta Rising Football Club, where the temperature isn't the only thing turning up the heat...
Felicity Sutherland knows what people think of her. She just doesn't care. Her attitude is her armor, and it hasn't failed her yet. Thick skin and working hard in the male-dominated sports industry placed her dream job within reach. And as she vies to become president of the Atlanta Rising Football Club, there isn't a competitor, or a distractingly handsome co-worker, that can get in her way.
The only games Gunnar Gracin has time for are the ones he coaches on the pitch. But life just keeps bending the ball, especially where the women in his life are concerned. The death of his wife over a decade ago was a devastating loss. Discovering an adult daughter from an encounter he doesn't remember changed all the rules. And working for the frosty, sharp-tongued Felicity is downright infuriating.
But as Gunnar and Felicity spend more time together, the tension between them sizzles like a hot summer night. And the moment Gunnar gets a taste of Felicity's smart mouth, he decides to throw the playbook out the window. If no one knows what they're up to, giving in to temptation doesn't feel so out of bounds. That is, until life gets in the way and the whistle is blown. Will it be a red card for Gunnar and Felicity's secret romance?
Out of Bounds is a standalone enemies-to-lovers, age gap contemporary romance. Enjoy it on its own, or as part of the series, with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA!
About Claire:
Claire Hastings is a walking, talking awkward moment. She loves Diet Coke, gummi bears, the beach, and books (obvs). When not reading she can usually be found hanging with friends at a soccer match or grabbing food (although she probably still has a book in her purse). She and her husband live in Atlanta with their fur-child Denali.
Asher McCoy can win over a sold-out crowd with a husky note and a strum of his guitar, but proving to a judge he’s responsible enough to gain custody of his niece and nephew? Not so easy. His big idea—a fake marriage. And who better to play his doting bride than his longtime best friend? He just needs to get her home first...
Natalie Haven couldn’t get away from her suffocating hometown fast enough. For years, she’s fluttered around the globe as a freelance photographer. And if that unconventional job pisses off her daddy? Well, all the better. But when her best friend sends out an S.O.S., she heads back to the one place she swore she’d never land.
Except a fake marriage means a not-so-fake living arrangement, including only one bed. Nat's witnessed enough women fall for Asher’s charms, but she refuses to be one of them. Because permanence isn’t in her blood. Not even for him.

My review:
Small Town
Pretender is the fifth book in the Havenbrook series. It was a new-to-me author, and I was pleasantly
surprised by it. The story was
heart-warming and beautifully written. I
really enjoy reading books with a friend to lover troupes and seeing the main
character’s relationship slowly change while dealing with their grief was touching. They were real-life, easy to connect with,
and charming. My heart went out to Asher
because he had to deal with his own grief and the sudden responsibility of his
niece and nephew. Natalie “Nat” was a wandering
photographer and hated returning to her hometown of Havenbrook. When Asher called her with news of his sister’s
death, she didn’t hesitate to go home for her best friend. There was such a strong bond between Asher and
Nat and they were perfect for each other.
Together they tackled every challenge that came their way and found a life
that would fit them. This was a tear-jerker but also inspirational to see them
succeed while grieving. I am so glad I
discovered this author and I look forward to reading the previous and future books
by the author.
I received
an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing.
She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them.
Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—one who’s already taller than her and one who’s catching up too fast—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it’s mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.
Conner “CJ” Montgomery
I have one goal in life – finally prove my father wrong by becoming the youngest partner in my law firm. I’ve got time for exactly three things: work, work, and more work. I can’t lose, until my boss gives me one final challenge: make the first mentorship program at our Baltimore office a success and the promotion is mine.
Returning home brings up too many memories. Too many distractions. Especially when I run into Colette Dubois, the only woman who ever tempted me to make my life about more than work.
On the verge of the biggest success of my life, what will it cost me to take one more risk?
Colette Dubois
I already gave up my dream of performing on Broadway to take care of my ailing mom. When they threaten to turn the lights off in my dying community theater, too, I won’t let anything stop me from saving it. It’s the only thing to bring a little light into the darkest period of my life.
I can’t afford to be vulnerable, but that’s exactly what I am the moment CJ Montgomery walks back into my life after ten years of living on the West Coast. We shared a kiss all those years ago. I thought we would have the summer after high school together, but he fled in the middle of the night.
Unfortunately my heart doesn’t know when to quit. Not when we spend time together. Not when we share an unexpected kiss. Not when he repeatedly tells me he won’t be here long.
Taking a risk isn’t easy for me, but this one could change everything.

My review:
I received an ARC but purchased my own copy also. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Conner “CJ” Montgomery was determined to become the youngest
partner in his law firm. He had left
Baltimore once he graduated and had not returned for ten years. He was so focused on his work that he had no
personal life and he had distanced himself from all his family and
friends. He reluctantly returns to
Baltimore for the summer when his boss puts him in charge of the new mentorship
project. Colette Dubois had moved back
to Baltimore after discovering her mother had cancer. After her mother passes away, she loses
herself in grief, and working at the community theater held her together. Now the theater is close to being shut down
unless they can get enough donations to keep it open. Can they have a future together and reach
their individual goals?
This was the author’s debut novel and I found it to be a
light romance to read. There were some
grammatical errors but not enough to be frustrating. The characters were interesting but hard to
connect with. I found Collette to be
self-centered and annoying with her “the universe would not let her be
happy.” It became a little tedious
reading it after every interaction between Collette and CJ. I found CJ to be pleasant until I reached the
end of the book where he and his boss interact.
It was heart-warming to hear CJ’s father apologize for his failure in
the past and see them working to improving their relationship. Seeing CJ’s perspective of Baltimore and his
family change was wonderful. He was able
to overcome his demons and find happiness.
Tyler “Doobie” Dubois is excited about moving back home to New Orleans after being away for five years. He left with a broken heart, determined to make it through the police academy and become a great cop, while finding his place in the world. Now, he’s ready to come home and regain his place in the family. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to welcome him back with open arms.
Time heals all wounds…
Alicia loves her life. Ever since she moved to New Orleans from Michigan, she’s been accepted for who she is and is thriving in The Big Easy. She’s open to love, although not actively looking for it, so when her best friend and roommate asks her to steer clear of Doobie romantically, she readily agrees. After all, she’s never even met him.
A chemistry that can’t be denied…
What begins as a friendship quickly turns to something more and they’ll both discover that loving each other is an easy risk.
