TAKING ON THE BILLIONAIRE – ROBIN COVINGTON

 Release Date: December 1, 2020

Publisher: Harlequin Desire

Blurb:

Will the woman he can’t resist be his downfall?

In the boardroom—and the bedroom—they’re on fire.

But will her secrets destroy them both?

Investigator Tess Lynch once helped Adam Redhawk find his Cherokee family. Now the self-made tech billionaire wants her to root out his company’s saboteur—and share his bed. But as passion builds between them, the private eye pursues a plan of her own—to get even for the way Adam’s adoptive father ruined hers. Until an unexpected pregnancy changes everything…

My review:

Taking on the Billionaire is the first book in the hot new Redhawk Reunion series.  The book was fast-paced and attention-grabbing.  I loved the characters and I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Billionaire Adam Redhawk and his siblings had been taken away from their parents and adopted when they were young children.  Adam hired Tess Lynch an investigator to find his brother and sister so he could reconnect with them.  He couldn’t resist the temptation of Tess so when he discovers there is somebody trying to sabotage his company’s big launch, he knew he wanted Tess to discover who was trying to ruin his business.  Her working in his office gave him a better opportunity at getting her into his bed.  Tess Lynch was ready to have her revenge against Franklin Thornton, Adam’s adoptive father.  Franklin had caused her father to die of a broken heart after taking away the dreams of his invention and the recognition he would receive for it.  Working with Adam and having access to his company records was perfect for Tess to gather more information on Franklin and his dirty deals.  But can Tess follow through with her revenge after falling in love with him?

A Wish in Iris Falls by Jen Gilroy

Rate: 5/5

Released: September 16th, 2020

Goodreads link:  A Wish in Irish Falls (Wishing Tree, #2). by Jen Gilroy | Goodreads

A Wish in Iris Falls
is the second book in the Wishing Tree series but was fine reading as a stand-alone. I loved the small-town charm and the heartwarming people of Irish Falls. Anything can happen in the small town with a wishing tree and a matchmaker, even a second chance at love for two heartbroken people. Tara Lynch had lost her husband when he was killed while on deployment with the Army. With nowhere else to go, she returns home to the small town she and her childhood sweetheart grew up in. She has finally decided it was time for her to do something different this year, but she’s not sure what that will be. She has become the co-owner of the family bakery and taken on the responsibility of organizing a fundraiser to help train service dogs for veterans. Adopting a dog and meeting Walker, who was going through the same loss was a comfort for her. Walker Cavanagh was only in town helping his cousin with his veterinarian practice while his cousin recuperated. After losing his fiancĂ©, he doesn’t feel as though he deserves to be happy. He has no plans on staying in Wishing Tree or becoming part of the community, but he can’t help but feel drawn to Tara and her need for help. Can two people who have lost their soulmates find happiness again?

This was such a heartwarming book, and I was so happy to see Tara and Walker find love again. They were perfect for each other but had to overcome their fear of losing another loved one and risking their hearts again. I look forward to reading future books in this series and getting to see the small town again.

Title: Montana Match (The Blackwell Sisters #4)

Rated: 5/5

Montana Match is the fourth book in the Blackwell Sisters series.  It’s also the second book I have read in the series and I am hooked!  In fact, I have had to add the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series to my TBR list because I want to read the brother’s stories.  The group is a great example of a large family and the love they share for each other.  The stories heartwarming, and the characters are loveable.  The Blackwell series is based on five siblings whose mother has just passed away and they learn that the father (Rudy Harrison) is not their real biological father.  They each travel to Montana to learn about their Blackwell family and find their HEA.  The fourth book is the baby of the family, Fiona’s story.

Fiona Harrison is the youngest sibling in the Harrison family and has always tried to please and make everyone happy.  She enjoys her job as a waitress and since she moves around a lot it is always easy to find a job. Her relationships with men are always short-term because she always seems to pick men that aren’t stable and not interested in marriage.  After her mother passes, her father is worried about her carefree lifestyle and convinces her to try and find a steady job and a husband.  Fiona decides to move to Montana and start a new life in Falcon Creek with her new Blackwell cousins.  But finding a husband material man and a career job isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.  Especially when her heart leads her to Simon, a bartender who lives in California but is helping his cousin’s business in Falcon Creek for a few weeks.

Simon has no interest in marriage after seeing how everyone in his family has been through a divorce and got hurt.  He stays away from women who want long-term or marriage.  He let Fiona believe he was only a bartender even though he has a successful business in California renting historical props to moviemakers.  His brain tells him this will keep him off her “suitable man” list, but his heart yearns to be on the list.  When Fiona says she wants them to date until he leaves, they both subconsciously dread that day.  Unfortunately, Simon never got around to telling Fiona the truth about his real-life in California before she found out. Will the truth end their relationship?

This was a light romance with comedy and family love.  Fiona was so easy-going and always happy which made the book an easy book to read and was perfect for adding holiday cheer.  I can’t wait for the next book to be released.  Hopefully, we will get to see Georgie find her HEA and the entire family all together for the wedding.
