Brynlee’s life suddenly changed when she discovered she was pregnant before graduating from high school.  Then it got worse when Macon, the best man, delivered a letter that left her standing at the altar alone.  Now Macon is her best friend, and she has fallen in love with him.  But she is afraid of losing his friendship if he doesn’t feel the same way.  

Macon had a crush on Brynlee in high school but was too scared to ask her out.  He thought his best friend, Sean, would return so he never made a move on Brynlee.  After they became best friends, he feared ruining their friendship. Can a kiss change thing between them or ruin their friendship?

Reckless Abandon is the first book in the Willow Brooks Falls series by Ashely Cade and the first book I have read by her.  The pacing was perfect, and the book was well written.  It caught my attention from the beginning, and I couldn't put it down.  It had all my favorite troupes; small town, single parent, and friend to lovers so it was perfect.  I really enjoyed this book, and I can’t wait for the second book.  I hope to see Sean in the future even though he let Brynlee down when they discovered she was pregnant.  His past was heartbreaking and I hope to see him find his happy ever after.

My review:

This was a new author to me, but I loved the amazing cover and the blurb caught my attention so I had to read it.  I am so glad I had a chance to read it.  It was well written, had an interesting storyline, and the characters were likable.  The book begins after Jackson and Marlow have already started their fling, but I had no trouble following.

Jackson is successful and wealthy but not looking for a relationship.  He and Marlow are the only single people in the group of friends they have from college.  He agreed to the no-strings attach fling he began with Marlow several months past, but his feelings are starting to get involved.  He wants more from Marlow now but convincing her could be a problem.

Marlow’s life is a disaster after her father loses all his money.  She cannot afford her apartment now and her job is becoming stressful.  She doesn’t feel like she is in a place yet to have a relationship but she’s not ready to give up on Jackson.  After being evicted from her apartment, she moves in with Jackson and slowly begins to see that she already loves Jackson.

This was a great book and I loved watching Marlow and Jackson’s romance grow.  They made such a cute couple, and I was cheering for them from the beginning.  It is the perfect book if you are looking for a low angst but fun romance to read.  I look forward to future books by the author.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars My review: Mr. Notting Hill is the sixth book in the Mister series by Louise Bay.  This was the first book I have read in the series, but I had no problems reading it as a stand-alone.   It was fast-paced and captured my attention from the beginning.   Parker wanted to use the money from her trust fund to help her favorite charity, but she had to be married to access it.  She thinks a marriage of convenience is the best way to accomplish it.  Tristan was intrigued by Parker after their collision in the hotel lobby.  He didn’t know she was the daughter of his mentor until after he won the bid for a date.  Their chemistry heats up and their marriage of convenience becomes very real. This was an entertaining book, and I loved the cute meet and witty banter between Parker and Tristan.  They were perfect for each other.   I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
