Erin Montgomery never felt like she belonged in Seattle and when she visited Bitterroot Valley while on vacation, she knew it was what she had been looking for.  She loved living the small-town life and her new job, well everything except the grumpy man who comes into the coffee shop every day.  If she didn’t need the money to repair her car, she never would consider taking the nanny position.

“I never believed in love at first sight, but I took one look at you at that coffee shop, and I knew I was a goner.”

Remington Wild, a single dad of two kids, has taken over the

series.  This small-town, age-gap, single

dad, nanny book set the standard for this series extremely high. I absolutely

loved the grump/sunshine relationship between Erin and Remi.  The pacing was perfect and the characters had

plenty of layers that slowly got revealed. 

This wonderful heartbreaking book had my emotions feeling like they were

on a rollercoaster. I highly recommend reading this book and will certainly be

rereading it.  I cannot wait for the next

book in the series.

After all, I can’t possibly spend every minute with my family.

But how do I just shrug off my duty to my job and throw caution to the wind for a stranger...no matter how handsome he is? Because that’s something else about me: I never throw caution to the wind—even a beautiful, blustery Icelandic wind.

My review:

The Scramble is a novella (book #2.5) in A Single in Seattle series and is also part of the 1001 Dark Night collection.  It was a great holiday romance that was a quick read that will have you in the holiday mood.  I had no problem reading it as a standalone and actually enjoyed all the family time.  

Maddie was a workaholic and reluctantly agreed to travel to Iceland for the family gathering for Christmas.  She planned to leave the next day until her family and Dylan encouraged her to take time off and enjoy her vacation.  Dylan was traveling to Iceland for work and was instantly attracted to Maddie when he saw her on the plane.  He does something he has never done before, a vacation fling.  But after spending time with Maddie, he wanted more.  

I loved this short story and highly recommend it if you are looking for a short holiday romance.

My review:

Take A Chance With Me is the eighteenth book in the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. I’ve not read all the books in the series, but I have read enough of them to adore the large and close-knit O’Callaghan family.  This is the fifth book of The O’Callaghan and even though they don’t have to be read in order, they are better that way.  Besides once you read one of them you are going to want to read them all!

This is Maggie and Cameron’s story and the tension between the two of them was high in the previous books.  I could not wait for this book, and it was so worth the wait.  It was engaging, had all the large family feel goods, and all the charming O’Callaghans.  Cameron always seemed mysterious in the previous books, and I loved getting to know him.  He was the calm to Maggie’s fire.  I was happy to see Maggie finally put the past behind her and start a new life with the man who had adored her forever.  This was such an amazing book and as much as I wanted to see this book, I am sad it is the last one for the O’Callaghan family.

My review:

Shelter is the second book in the Heroes of Big Sky series by Kristen Proby.  I haven’t read the previous book in the series, but this was perfectly fine reading as a standalone.  It was short, easy to read, and fast-paced.  The characters were likable and easy to connect with.  I enjoyed meeting all the King family and characters of Cunningham Falls.  I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the rest of the King family in the future.  This was a charming story that makes you feel good and leaves you smiling at the end.

“Who are you?”
My heart jumps, and my stomach jolts as I spin and see a man walk out of the master bath. He’s tall. He’s frowning.
And he looks familiar.
“The question is, who are you?” Why did I leave my purse—and my mace—in the kitchen?
“You’re in my condo,” he retorts.
“No, you’re in my condo,” I reply and cross my arms over my chest, trying to look mean. “This is two-oh-three A. Mine. If you’re going to murder-death-kill me, I’m going to ask you to take today off and do it to someone else because I’ve had a long drive, and I need to get ready for my new job. Now, see yourself out.”
Is that me, sounding all calm and collected?
I’m never this calm. Or collected.
Seattle is clearly good for me.
“I hate to burst your bubble,” the stranger replies, “but I’m not leaving. I leased this place, and I’m moving in today.”
“But.” I frown. “I leased this place. And I’m moving in today.”
I stomp out of the bedroom and head straight for the kitchen, opening my bag to retrieve my phone.

“You’re going to have to move,” I inform him. “I already paid for the first month and the security deposit.”

He must see the recognition in my eyes because his go ice-cold.

“Nah.” He picks a piece of donut out of his teeth and shakes his head slowly. “I don’t think I will. I’ll stay here.”
I blink at him and start to feel helpless. My savings is in this place. I don’t have enough left to rent anything else.
And I don’t have time. I start work in just three days.
Part of me wants to cry, but I’ll be damned if I let this hoity-toity movie star see me upset.
So, I do the only thing I can think of.
I prop my fist on the opposite hand in a challenge of rock, paper, scissors.
“What are you doing?” he asks, raising one sexy eyebrow.
“The adult thing,” I reply primly. “Best out of three wins?”
He blinks twice, looks from my hands to my face and back again, then shrugs one muscular shoulder and assumes the position.
“Fine,” he says. “I’m going to win—wait. What’s your name?”
“Aubrey,” I say and lick my lips. “Aubrey Stansfield. And you’re Wyatt Earp.”
His lips twitch into a half-smile. “I only played him on TV.”
I chuckle and say, “Ready?”
“Go,” he says, and we thump our fists three times.
I land on scissors.
He fists for rock.
Damn it.
“Let’s go again,” Zane says.
One. Two. Three.
I land on paper.
He chooses rock again.
I grin, and his blue eyes smile back.
There’s a reason Zane Cooper is the hottest sex symbol in the world. Good God, I might combust just from standing next to him.
All the more reason to get him out of my house.
“Last one,” I say. “Go.”
One. Two. Three.
I land on paper again, assuming Zane only knows how to use rock.
But he forms scissors.
I breathe deeply and reach for my last damn donut.
“That’s mine,” he says, and I whirl on him.
“This is mine,” I reply hotly. “I stood in a bloody line in Portland for it, just this morning. I drove all the way here from Arizona. I’m tired. I’m a little scared. And now I have you in my house, and you won’t leave. Even better than that, you just stole it out from under me.”
“I won it,” he reminds me. “Fair and square. The donut, that is.”
I stop and frown at him. “Huh?”
“I won the donut. In the rock-paper-scissors game.”
“I was playing for the condo, Wyatt.”
He barks out a laugh. “Not me. I want that donut.”

My review:

Change With Me is the #17.5 novella in the With Me in Seattle series.  It was easy to read, fast-paced and easily a one setting book to read.  Change With Me is part of the 1001 Dark Nights series which can be read as stand-alones and gives new readers a chance to explore new authors.  Even though I have not read any of the other books in the series I do not feel as though I missed anything by jumping into the series.  The characters were charming and perfect for each other. 

Zane Cooper, famous actor, needs to lay low until the scandal blows over.  He decides to leave LA and stay with his best friend in Seattle.  Aubrey Stansfield leaves Arizona after her grandfather dies to take a teaching position in Seattle.  She loves teaching children and is ready to start over in a new city and school.  When they unexpected rent the same apartment they decide to being roommates since neither has another place to go. 

I enjoyed reading this book and getting the chance to read some of Kristen Proby’s work.  It was well written and was just enough to know I like her style of writing.  I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

My review:

Flirt With Me is the seventeenth book in the With Me in Seattle series but I read it as a stand-alone and did not have any problems following the story.  This was a new-to-me author and I really enjoyed reading it.  It grabbed my attention from the beginning and kept me interested until the end.  The characters were interesting, and I loved meeting all the O’Callaghan’s and their friends.  Maeve and Hunter were the perfect couple.  I love how Maeve and her family were so friendly and welcoming to Hunter and Rachel.  This was a heart-warming story, and I would recommend it.  I will certainly add the other books in the series to my TBR list.
