Welcome to Fort Lauderdale—where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter.
Slava:
From the first moment I laid eyes on Zoe in that Paris nightclub I knew it was love. Nothing else could explain the intensity I felt for the petite blond. She wasn’t my usual type, but she didn’t even blink at my scars, muscles, and voracious sexual appetite. A big, burly hockey player, brought to my knees by a woman a fraction my size.
Everything was going great. Until I asked her to marry me. I’m Russian and she’s Swiss. The only way we can be together is if we get married, but she won’t even consider it. I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do, but leaving hockey to move to Switzerland isn’t an option.
Zoe:
When my ex-fiance left me at the altar, I was devastated. It took nearly three years for me to get over it and I vowed I’d never let anyone get that close again. Then I met Slava and realized I’d never truly been in love before. He’s everything a man should be—strong, sexy, successful, and tender. But I can’t marry him. I was going to lose him if I couldn’t get over my fears, so I did the only thing I could: I let him go.
When the past rears its ugly head, Slava is the only one who can save me. But letting him back in could destroy us both.
Welcome to Fort Lauderdale—where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter.
Wolf: I’ve been in love with the same girl since we were seventeen. Back before our careers took off and pulled us away from one another. No amount of fame, money, or puck bunnies could ever replace Scarlett. But she has a mind of her own, and dreams that don’t include me. We might not want the same things in life, but we still want each other. No matter how hard she fights it, she can’t deny that truth. I just need to prove to her it’s enough… we’re enough.
Scarlett: I didn’t want to have to choose between Wolf and surfing, but I couldn’t have both. As much as he hates to admit it, neither of us might be where we are now if I hadn’t walked away. His life is about being the best on the ice, and mine is chasing down the next wave. I refuse to give it all up for a guy— even if he is the only guy I’ve ever loved. A single mistake changes everything… turning both our worlds upside down. Now I have to figure out how to regain balance, not just in my life, but with Wolf. This time, there’s no bailing… even if it means a wipeout.

About the Author:
USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she's called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She's never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she'd probably choose the west coast.
A typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max), Kat can usually be found scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) - traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible.
Kat's been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article--a review of a rock concert--for $10 in 1985. Since then she's been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.
As you can guess from her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat loves hockey and occasionally writes articles about her favorite team, the Florida Panthers. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There's something enticing about hockey players and romance...

Welcome to Fort Lauderdale... where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter.
Jace: I never expected to make it up to the big leagues. But now that I’m here, I’m never going back down. I will out-work, out-train, outdo every other guy on the Knights if that’s what it takes. Not even a shark attack will get in my way… but the sexy surfer chick who rescues me just might.
Tawny: Losing my soulmate taught me that life is short. And I’m going to spend the rest of mine becoming one of the top surfers in the world. I refuse to be distracted by some hotshot hockey player who is my polar opposite. No matter how good it is between us. Deep down I don’t want to lose this thing we have going, but one wrong move and he just might pull me under.

U.S. Marine Corps Major Mark Garrison turns heads when he's not trying to be invisible. He's the whole package and he's looking to try something new when he heads off to Alaska to meet with billionaire Gage Caldwell. Things look even better when the sexy redhead he's been lusting after practically falls into his lap.
At six-foot-one, Lana Callahan has always felt awkward around men. Her job as a sports and entertainment publicist puts her around celebrities on a regular basis, but she shies away from hot guys. A new assignment from her boss takes her to Alaska to tame the reputation of a professional hockey player, and she finds herself face-to-face with the one hottie she can’t resist.
Lana’s wary of getting too close to the gorgeous Marine she’s been fantasizing about for two years, but he isn’t giving up. Just as things heat up between them, her client’s past catches up to them, putting Lana in the crosshairs. Mark’s first assignment for Mr. Caldwell could very well be his last, and this time Lana might slip through his fingers for good.
*Author's Note: This title was previously released as part of Elle James's Brotherhood Protectors world. It has been revised and re-edited to reflect a new locale within the Alaska Blizzard series, but the basic story is the same.

Welcome to Fort Lauderdale—where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter.
Jude: I’ve always said I would settle down when the time—and the woman—was right. So having a friends-with-benefits relationship fits right into my plans. Until it doesn’t. The line between friendship and wanting more with the gorgeous doctor is blurring with each passing day. The more I get to know her, the harder it gets to stay away. I need to show Chloe there’s more to us than just chemistry… but first I have to admit it to myself.
Chloe: I thought I had my life all mapped out. College, medical school, and then a demanding career as a successful doctor. Now I’m having doubts about all of it, and the last thing I need is a professional athlete with abs for days to add to my distraction and derail my plans. Falling for a big shot hockey player like Jude would be a mistake. But everything is so good between us— there’s no way I can just walk away.

My review:
Big Shot is the second book in the Lauderdale Knights series. I enjoyed the first book in the series, so I was really looking forward to this book. I found it to be just as good if not better than what I expected! It was refreshing and entertaining to read. The characters were lovable, and I really liked the side characters. Jude and Chloe made the perfect couple and their connection was streamy. I highly recommend the entire series and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hard Pass by Brenda Rothert & Kat Mizera releases on May 17th! https://geni.us/HardPass1 Available on All Platforms
Sariah
Ever meant to text your ex, but accidentally messaged a stranger instead? I did, and that mistake started a friendship that became important to me as I navigated a move and a new job with the St. Louis Mavericks. I’m crushing life as a strong, single woman until I discover the truth. That stranger I’m crushing on? He’s actually not a stranger at all.
Nash
Giving a fake name to the woman who accidentally texted me seemed like a good idea at the time. As a pro hockey player, my real name tends to draw out puck bunnies and fame seekers. But when the woman who thinks I’m “Rob” starts working for the Mavericks, I find myself in a jam. How do I tell her the man she thinks she’s falling for is actually the somewhat arrogant (though charming) hockey player she can’t stand?

Welcome to Fort Lauderdale—where the days are hot and the Knights are hotter…
Vaughn: I might be at the top of my game, but a fresh start feels like the right move at this stage of my career. Joining the Lauderdale Knights has been a great decision, and I’m ready to win this city over.
On opening night the crowd goes wild… and so does my slap shot. Knocking a fan unconscious wasn’t the introduction I envisioned. Especially when I lay eyes on my gorgeous victim. Problem is… she’s engaged.
Juliet: Waking up with a concussion and amnesia has made me realize that when it comes to living life on my terms, it’s now or never. My big Italian family means well, but it’s time for them to stop calling the shots.
Slap Shot is
the first book in the Lauderdale Knights series. I have enjoyed previous books by Ms. Mizera
so I was really looking forward to this book.
It was just as good if not better than what I expected! I loved the characters and the cute-meet of Vaughn
and Juliet. It was refreshing and
entertaining to read. It was wonderful
watching Vaughn and Juliet connect and fall for each other. Juliet’s family was fascinating and provided
plenty of laughs. I cannot wait for the
next book in the series.
I received
an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Retired hockey star Remington Knight is back on top... and he intends to stay that way.
After having everything, losing it all and then getting it back, his only focus is preparing for the inaugural season of his new professional hockey team. Taking a detour to the quaint little town of Garland Grove, British Columbia where Remy just inherited an ice arena he didn’t even know his father owned, is a distraction he can’t afford right now. The plan is simple... get in, hire a realtor, and get the hell out before Christmas.
Bad luck follows Noelle Burrier around like a lost puppy. She’s barely getting by, living in her car and working a dead-end job at the concession stand of the local hockey rink. When the arena’s hotshot new owner comes in ready to sell, she finds herself on thin ice, desperate to make him see more than dollar signs.
The more time they spend together, the harder it is to keep their distance and deny the fire building between them. With Remy just passing through, and Noelle stuck where she is, will they find the magic of Christmas together or will her knight in shining armor skate off into the sunset, leaving her alone in the cold?

It was now or never for hockey star Donovan Legori. He’d been keeping his head down and his skates on the ice since his painful divorce. Getting traded was the only thing that mattered. Tired of playing back-up— he was ready for a team that would make him a starting goalie. What he wasn’t ready for was falling for his teammate’s spunky sister.
Fiery redhead Tara Laassonen needed a fresh start and a one-way ticket out of Finland. Moving to be near her professional hockey player brother in Anchorage seemed like the perfect escape, especially when his tall, dark and handsome teammate made her forget all about her disastrous break up back home.
Just as things were heating up, Tara found both her heart and her visa on thin ice. And Donovan discovered that a marriage of convenience was anything but easy, especially when forced to choose: Hockey or Tara.
