It wasn’t every day that I was shot at by a sniper. But this was now my life, being hunted by someone my (dead) ex-fiancé had crossed. They thought I had something he’d taken, and they weren’t going to stop until they had what they wanted.

I went to the best security company around, but what I ended up with was a bodyguard who was as hot and tempting as he was grumpy and annoyingly bossy. Vaughn reluctantly took me on as a client, despite my inability to pay, and put me in his own personal safehouse with a set of rules to follow. 

But a few of those rules?  Yeah, I broke them just because I knew it would provoke him. What I didn’t anticipate was the kind of punishment he decided to dole out . . . and it wasn’t long before we went from enemies, to lovers, and an indecent proposal was struck between us.

We both swore it was all temporary, but the closer Vaughn gets to finding out who is after me and why, I realize walking away from this man might be much harder than I’d ever imagined.

My review:

Indecent Proposal is the first book in the Indecent series by Erika Wilde, who is a fairly new author to me.  It was a well-written story full of mystery and action.  I was engaged from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.  The chemistry between Claire and Vaughn was off the charts.  Their attraction to each other was immediate, although neither wanted to acknowledge it.  I loved watching their relationship grow as they try to unravel the mystery of Claire’s enemy. 

This was an amazing book, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Heartless Sinner is the first book in the Made for the Mafia series. This was a new-to-me author, but the blurb and cover were eye-catching so I wanted to check it out. My attention was caught in the beginning, and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. It was fast-paced, full of intrigue, and the storyline was developed. I loved watching Marla and Vincent’s relationship grow. As a mafia capo, Vincent needed to get married according to his father. Vincent wanted a woman who was strong and could be his partner but finding such a woman was not easy. Until Marla arrived on his doorstep to ask for his help discovering who had killed her brother. She was the perfect woman for the job; she was tough and had grown up in the mafia world. Their marriage would be beneficial to them both. The book was full of twists and turns, and I was incredibly surprised by the ending. I really enjoyed the book, and I am glad I was able to read it. I look forward to the next book in the series.
