My review:
Shifting Gears is the third book in Reynold’s Restoration series and each book gets better and better. This is Brett and Kelly’s story, and it starts after they break up and Kelly leaves him. Kelly is a wonderer and travels the world as a photographer. Every time she comes home, Brett and she hook up. Their relationship starts as a fling but quickly becomes more until Kelly gets scared of her feelings and leaves. When she returns after being gone for a year, Brett has built a wall around his heart to keep her out. Do they have a chance of having a happy ever after?
This series has been so entertaining, and I love revisiting the characters from the previous books. This book will touch your heart, have you in tears, but will leave you with a smile at the end. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

New York Times/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of thirty-plus years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.
While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys traveling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.
The last thing any professional hockey player wants is to be the old man in the game. The guy who doesn't know when it's time to retire. Still, I can't bear the thought of leaving the game.
This past year I've reflected on all my regrets, and I told myself that once I retire it'll be the time to settle down and start a family. But this is where it gets tricky.
I think I've found her—my Mrs. Although she'll deny our connection to anyone who asks. We've been sleeping together casually and since I'm still playing hockey, I've let her get what she wants—me—whenever she wants.
After being told my career as a player is over, the owner of Florida Fury grants me a shot to stay in the game. A coaching position I didn't know I wanted until it was offered. The catch? He's also passing the family business down to his daughter.
Who's his daughter?
The woman who's been in and out of my bed for the past year. Which means the woman I intend to make my wife is now my new boss.

This bad boy needs an image makeover. Can the quirky librarian get the job done?
He’s a Keeper, an all-new opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine romance full of heat and heart from bestselling author Stacy Travis is out now!
Drunk-texting a grumpy soccer star? Best worst decision of my life.
Especially when the player is the sinfully handsome, foul-mouthed Holden Sanders… my new library assistant.
The benched bad boy needed an image makeover, I needed to save my job, and his star status was just what the library ordered to raise awareness for our fundraising campaign. The press can’t get enough of Mr. Growly reading to kids.
It's win-win and completely platonic.
Until I need a shoulder to cry on after drowning my heartbreak in too many margaritas. I only typed that invitation to his brawny biceps and perfect pectorals for fun–I never meant to hit send. Holden isn’t the kind of guy to care about tears and feelings, least of all mine. He’s made it clear good girls aren’t his type.
But he shows up–with his strapping shoulder, a box of tissues and a supersized bag of Doritos.
That’s when I realize there’s more to him than meets the eye.
One soulful, smoldering mistake of a kiss has me craving more, and the heat between us quickly builds to a blaze neither of us can control.
But I’m not the only one guarding secrets, and Holden’s might push us to the breaking point.
Even if I’m surrounded by books, I know better than to believe in storybook endings.
And yet, I want to believe... Because I know he's a keeper.

My review:
After being publicly humiliated by his girlfriend and making some bad decisions that affected his soccer career, Holden is done with women and relationships. Taking his niece Kathryn to the library should have been boring instead his life gets shaken up by the children’s librarian. He found himself reading to kids and breaking his two-year ban on relationships. Molly worked part-time as the children’s librarian and her job is on the line. In order to save it, she starts reading time at the library, but it is so far out of her league. She convinced Holden to help her and with his presence, her reading time makes a splash. But she has issues and a fear of being abandoned by her boyfriend and father. Can they find a way to compromise to have a future together?
“Wherever I go, whatever path life takes me on, I want to go there with you. I want all your todays and all your forevers…”
This author is still new to me however I have loved every book I have read. This was a great grumpy-sunny sports romance filled with emotions. I loved watching Holden and Molly’s relationship grow. Molly was always so cheerful and was able to get past Holden’s grumpy walls to see the real him not the popular keeper for the Stricker’s soccer team. They were an adorable couple, and I was cheering them on the entire book. I cannot wait for the next book which will be for Holden’s teammate Tim. Excerpt
“Mare, I had no idea what I was in for when you stormed out of the library that day, looking to kill me for skirting my parental responsibilities.” She squints, then her expression turns wry. “I’d never kill a person.” She tilts her head from side to side, considering. “Well, unless you burned a book.” Nodding, I kiss her softly. “I respect that. And I want you to know you can trust me. I know people have left you behind in your past, but I hope you believe me when I tell you I’m not going anywhere. I’m here for you.” As I say the words, I believe they’re true. If I move to England, I hope she loves me enough to come with me. Even if she hasn’t said the words. I don’t know what I’m expecting. Maybe relief or acknowledgment that she’s not going anywhere either. I want to believe she feels the same way. I don’t expect her forehead to crease and her eyes to glisten with tears, which swell until they can no longer be contained and roll down her cheeks before she buries her face in my shoulder. Turning us to the side, I wrap her in my arms, as the flow of tears turns to quiet sobs. I smooth her hair and give her the outlet she needs, even though I feel guilty for making her cry. With a sniff, she leans her head away and meets my gaze. Her wet eyes glisten above pink cheeks. I wipe a remaining tear away with the pad of my thumb and rub her back gently. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.” “You didn’t,” she whispers, wiping her eyes. A moment later she laughs at the lie. “It was stuck inside me. You just let it out.” She exhales, tucking the emotions away. “You okay?” I want to tread carefully until I know where she is in her head. Nodding, she reaches for my cheek and cups the side of my face. “Thank you for saying that. I’d never ask that of you, but thank you. I love you. So much.” I’ve been waiting to hear those words. For a moment, I’m convinced that everything between us can stay this easy. We’re both cautious, but we can cross each new line together. It feels powerful to be able to do that with her. “I know you’d never ask. That’s why I said it. I wanted you to know.” “I’m not going anywhere either.” I’m struck by a foreign but welcome feeling, a realization that I can’t go backward now. I can’t be okay without her in my world. I need to tell her about the Premier League, but it can wait another day. She likes to live in the present. She loves me. Everything between us is still so fragile and new and good. I don’t want anything to change us. One more day won’t hurt.
About Stacy Travis It’s a rough world out there, and we all sometimes need a good, romantic beach read, even if we can’t make it to the beach. I’ve spent many lazy days walking the streets of Paris and other gorgeous European cities, and if I’m doing it right, I’m bringing you a dash of romance and a vacay fantasy. I can’t sit still, so when I’m not hiking, biking or running, I’m playing a very average game of tennis. Background music for writing undoubtedly features some U2, Lizzo, Billy Joel, Pink, Taylor Swift, and Led Zeppelin. Not necessarily in that order. And if I could only eat one food group, it would be cheese. Or wine. Or bread. Are those food groups? Whatever.

Zoe Atkins wanted exactly one thing. To be the world’s greatest percussionist. Instead, she’s on a tour bus engaged in a stupid bet with rock star, Alex King, trying to fill the hole left behind when her dream gave up on her.
The prickly former percussionist wasn’t supposed to steal his heart. With her distrust of lipstick and love of men’s pyjamas, she was everything playboy, Alex, didn’t want in a lover. At least, that’s what he thought when he bet her he could find her a hook up during their tour. Until he’s forced to watch the woman he’s come to desire leave the bar with her perfect guy, taking a piece of his already bruised and battered heart with her.
Now it’s up to the Sad Fridays’ rocker to use his passionate powers of persuasion to convince Zoe he’s more than her wingman. He’s her everything.
My review:
Love You Like That is the fourth book in the Excess All
Areas series. This was a new-to-me
author but reading it as a standalone gave me no problems. This is not a book I would normally choose
but the synopsis was interesting so I thought I would try it. It was written well, the pacing was good, and
the characters had a lot of depth. I
enjoyed watching Zoe and Alex’s relationship grow as they came to know each
other. They both felt like they
different fit in and would not be enough.
Once they got over the fears of what would happen if their relationship
went sour, they discovered how similar they were. I loved how Alex stressed how important
communication was and made sure they discussed everything even things that were
difficult. Their relationships had
struggles, but they were able to overcome them through communication and being
there for each other.
This was an enjoyable book and I’m glad I decided to try
something different and would recommend it.

Admittedly, it was a moment of weakness on my part. But even the strong-willed have been known to fall for a hard body underneath a tailored suit and a five o’clock shadow coating a sharp jawline.
It didn’t matter that Jackson St. James was nothing but trouble. Trouble was just my type.
Been there.
Done him.
Not making that mistake again.
We were friends, a low-key affair we designed ourselves—over before we began. After all, together we made no sense.
Jackson is into sports. I prefer the arts.
He gulps beer. I sip champagne.
While I might not be described as humble, his arrogance is through the roof.
But when he asks if we can talk, my traitorous Louboutins come to a full stop. Although I’ve seen enough movies to know how these conversations go, maybe, just maybe, he’ll surprise me.
He has before . . .
We may have started with a kiss, but how will we end?
His designer suits, expensive shoes, flashy car, and cruel intelligence can’t hide what he is underneath.
Empty.
He fooled me once, and I swore he’d never get a second chance.
There is nothing he can do to redeem himself in my eyes.
As my most hated rival, the only time he makes me smile, is when I’ve bested him in the boardroom.
But someone far worse is out to get me. Perhaps, even hurt me.
The police have no leads, and I have no idea who it could be.
I do know one man who doesn’t play by the rules. One man who could protect me.
I’d rather live in fear than ask for his help.

My review:
This was certainly an enemy to a lover’s romance that was intense and full of heat. The writing was wonderful and pulled me in right away. The suspense kept me reading and I didn’t see the ending until it hit. Angel and Onyx were both confident, stubborn, and hated to lose; putting them together caused a spectacular explosion. The tension between the two was off the wall intense and it never died.
Angel and Onyx had a history together which the author gives as a backstory throughout the book. Their disputes in the boardroom kept Onyx focused but he didn’t like the idea of anyone else giving Angel a hard time. He doesn’t hesitate to take the lead when he learns she has a stalker.
This was the first book I have read by the author and I enjoyed it. It was well-written, intense, and kept my attention until the end. I look forward to future books by the author.

Ruthless Devil is a full-length enemies-to-lovers romance that is intended for mature readers. This is a standalone book and does not need to be read in conjunction with The Ruthless Devils Series, but you may enjoy it more if you do. If you are not a fan of morally grey alphaholes or heroines that aren’t afraid to tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine, then you should keep scrolling.
*WARNING* This book features Onyx Santo, who was first introduced in The Ruthless Devils Series, but this is his story and not a continuation of that series. To be clear, this book does not contain Jett, Gray or Ash. There may be a mention of them, but this is not about them or their story.
This book will contain themes that some readers may find triggering or offensive, such as dark themes, sexual/violent content, excessive swearing, and smouldering heat. If you’re still here and interested, buckle up and let thisDevil take you on a crazy ride.

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.
Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!
When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes a bittersweet romance about the risks and rewards of falling in love.
Everly never expected to move back in with her parents, and she definitely didn’t expect to do so as a single mother. But with the father of her son suddenly out of the picture, she’s had to make some adjustments to her plans.
Now Everly has one priority: to make a life for herself and her boy. And Blake, her sometimes infuriating but admittedly handsome employer at Live Life Adventures, doesn’t factor into her future as anything more than her boss.
But it seems the guy who’s about as friendly as a grizzly bear has a soft spot for her and her son…and the more time she spends with him, the more difficult it is to remember why giving in to the chemistry between them is a bad idea.
Now, with their future on the line, they’ll have to decide if love is a risk worth taking.

My review:
Risky is the second book in the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds, but the books can be read as standalone's with no trouble. The series is based on three ex-military men who started a business, Live Life Adventures, together which offers tours in the Montana wilderness. This is Blake and Everly’s story. Everly returned home as a single mom after her boyfriend wanted nothing to do with her or their son. She must start over and make a new life for herself and her son, Sam. Finding a job working at Live Life Adventures was perfect if she didn’t have to deal with Blake her grumpy boss. Blake was keeping his dad’s secret from his mother and father and the burden was destroying him. Between keeping secrets and the pressure from the resort, he was grumpier than normal. He didn’t like his partners hiring Everly without consulting him, especially since he was so attracted to her. Can he keep his distance from Everly and her cute son Sam or will he give into his attraction and make her his? I have really enjoyed this series and I think this is my favorite so far. I always love a good grumpy hero and Blake fulfilled that character role perfectly. I loved watching his soft side come out in his interactions with Sam. It was just too adorable. I cannot wait for Mav’s book which will be next.
