Review: Flyboy

Flyboy Flyboy by Rhian Cahill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flyboy is part of The Everyday Heroes World which is part of the K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World project.  I have read a few books from this project and I feel this book was acceptable to read as a standalone.  This was a new-to-me author though and I was not sure what to expect but I’m happy I had the chance to read it.  It was well-written and fast-paced. The characters and the storyline were developed.  My attention was caught in the beginning I could not put the book down until I had finished.  At first, I did not care for Alyssa, she dumped Jack, who was her friend with benefits, once she learned she had a sister.  As I read a little more, I began to understand her fear of relationships, but she still came off as cold-hearted.  I loved Jack who was so into their relationship and stayed in the background for months helping Alyssa without her knowing.  I understood she wanted independence, but I don’t feel like Jack was trying to take that away.  He just loved her and did not want to see her struggle.  Alyssa’s sister was a smart girl who recognized Jack’s feelings for Alyssa and helped him win her over.  The book was entertaining and funny and I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I received an ARC and am willingly leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
