My review:

“It’s like God suddenly created a Phoenix-shaped hole in my heart.  And only you can fill it.”

Terminal Danger is the fifth book in the clean romance series Guardians Unleased. I have really enjoyed every book of the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection (PK-9) team series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I think reading them in order gives you a better understanding of the women’s strong bond with each other and their dogs.

This was Phoenix’s story, and she has always been a great enigma in the series.  She has strong walls built to keep people out, but she will do whatever is necessary to keep her people safe.  She is brilliant at predicting the villains’ plans and outmaneuvering them.  Special Agent Callum Ross specializes in finding serial killers.  He is amazed by Phoenix and her team’s skills.  His respect and amazement of Phoenix grow as they track the kidnapper.

Just like all the books in the series this one was fast-paced, intense, and full of suspense and twists.  This was Phoenix’s journey to faith and watching her understanding of God grow was amazing.  I loved getting to see her grow and open her heart up.  This was truly an amazing book, and I loved every minute of it.  The twists and turns kept me engaged and I could not put it down once I started reading. Be prepared to sit down and spend the day reading because it is that good!  I cannot wait for Waylaid, the first book in the new series, Windy City.

My review:

Wow! The suspense had me from the beginning.  This is the second book in the clean suspenseful Christian romance series Guardians Unleased. Actually, it is the third book since the series starts with Rising Danger (Book 0) followed by Hidden Danger (Book 1).  I have really enjoyed each book of the all-female highly trained team known as the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection (PK-9). The women are confident, courageous, and unfailing in their mission to protect. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I think reading Rising Danger first gives the reader a better understanding of the women and their dog's strengths.  The numbering is confusing but so worth starting from the beginning!  This is Amalia Perez and Michael Barrett’s story.

Amalia and Michael grew up as best friends, but Amalia was then Sophia.  Michael, an investigative journalist, has searched for Sophia for years.  Until he discovers she is one of the agents protecting him from assassins.  He is puzzled by the woman she has become and her loss of faith in God. 

I loved how Michael’s faith in God was strong even when he was on the run.  He never gave up on Amalia and continued to chip at the wall she had built around herself.  Amalia had stopped believing in God but Michael’s reappearance in her life made her question her faith in God and her life choices.

The book was fast-paced, full of twists, and intense action.  It was well written, easy to read, and the wonderful characters had many layers.  I loved the book and cannot wait for the next book.  These women and their K-9s have found a way into my heart and I can’t get enough of them.  I highly recommend this book.

My review:

Hidden Danger is listed as the first book in the Guardians Unleased series, but we first meet the Phoenix K-9 (PK-9) women in Rising Danger.  It can be read as a stand-alone but I think reading Rising Danger first gives the reader a better understanding of the women and their dog's strengths. This was Cora and Kent’s story, and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be.

After her younger brother gets in trouble with drugs and disappears, Cora joins the women at PK-9.  Cora and Jana, her K-9, are assigned to help stop the drug cartel.  After one of her shifts at the airport, she is kidnapped and her life was in danger by one of the cartel leaders

At first DEA Special Agent Kent Thomason was not sure if Cora was being kidnapped or was part of the cartel.  He was used to working alone and he had personal reasons for taking down the drug cartel.  Until he saw the PK-9 women in action, Kent did not think they could help him. 

This was a heartwarming story full of hope, trust, mystery, and family dilemmas.  The characters were developed, and the storyline was full of twists and turns.  My attention was caught from the beginning, and I could not put the book down until I finished it.  I have really enjoyed meeting the PK-9 team and look forward to seeing them again in future books.

My review:

Wow! The suspense was so intense that it had me on the edge of my chair. This was a clean second chance Christian romance full of danger, intrigue, and action. I loved how the heroine was part of an all-female team known as the Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection (PK-9). The women were confident, courageous, and unfailing in their mission to find the bomber.

Bristol Bachmann and her K-9 Toby were new to the PK-9 team, but the other women had her back.  She was surprised and amazed at how supportive they were as they searched for the bomber.  Discovering her ex-boyfriend Remington “Rem” Jones was the dams’ supervisor worried her since he had been immature and unpredictable when she knew him six years ago. Rem thought he would never see Bristol again, but he was hoping she would see he had changed for the better.  He knew his actions and the choices he made earlier in life would always haunt him.  
I really liked Rem’s sincerity and good humor from the beginning.  He owned his faults and worked to change himself for the better after finding God.  Bristol was unforgiving and not willing to risk her heart getting broken again by Rem.  I must admit to getting a little upset by the middle of the book with her unforgiving and doubtfulness.  I was glad to see her attitude change at the end.  She finally opened her heart and found peace within herself.  I enjoyed watching her character grow throughout the book.  This was a new author for me, and I really enjoyed reading this book.  I hope to see the women from the PK-9 team in future books.
