My review:

Hidden Danger is listed as the first book in the Guardians Unleased series, but we first meet the Phoenix K-9 (PK-9) women in Rising Danger.  It can be read as a stand-alone but I think reading Rising Danger first gives the reader a better understanding of the women and their dog's strengths. This was Cora and Kent’s story, and it was just as amazing as I thought it would be.

After her younger brother gets in trouble with drugs and disappears, Cora joins the women at PK-9.  Cora and Jana, her K-9, are assigned to help stop the drug cartel.  After one of her shifts at the airport, she is kidnapped and her life was in danger by one of the cartel leaders

At first DEA Special Agent Kent Thomason was not sure if Cora was being kidnapped or was part of the cartel.  He was used to working alone and he had personal reasons for taking down the drug cartel.  Until he saw the PK-9 women in action, Kent did not think they could help him. 

This was a heartwarming story full of hope, trust, mystery, and family dilemmas.  The characters were developed, and the storyline was full of twists and turns.  My attention was caught from the beginning, and I could not put the book down until I finished it.  I have really enjoyed meeting the PK-9 team and look forward to seeing them again in future books.
