Release Date: April 12
I moved to Chicago six months ago, determined to finally open my own bakery. My landlady was this sweet woman who treated me like her granddaughter.
Then she sold the house. Now the devil himself is my landlord and neighbor since I live in the guesthouse on his property. Declan Maxwell is moody, unreasonable, and takes himself far too seriously. Unfortunately for me, he’s also damn sexy.
When he shows up on my doorstep in the middle of the night ordering me to turn down the music, I give him hell. Secretly, I’m also checking him out. We go toe to toe like this almost every night.
The man is impossible. But here’s the thing. I need a place to stay while I save for my business and this place is a steal. So, I need to put up with this handsome devil, though from a distance—because he’s far too gorgeous.
Then one day I come home injured from work and he surprises me by taking care of me.
And kissing me.
And just like that, all my best intentions go up in smoke.

My review:
Show Me Forever is the third book in The Maxwell Brothers series by Layla Hagen. This is one of my favorite authors because her stories are always well written, straightforward and low angst. Her characters are so lovable and genuine not to mention I enjoy seeing them again in the new books. The Maxwell family has become one of my favorites because the siblings are so charismatic and mischievous. I love all their sibling banter, their humor, and how close-knit they are. This is Decan, the oldest Maxwell sibling, and Liz’s story.
Lawyer Decan Maxwell was the responsible sibling and was called “the voice of reason” by his siblings. He recently purchased a house and had agreed to allow the tenant in the guest house to stay until her lease was up. He hadn’t realized she would be keeping him up all night with her loud music.
Liz Watson had moved to Chicago to follow her dream of opening a bakery. She was working two and a half jobs to save money while she was looking for a space to rent for her bakery. Her landlord is grumpy and way to serious and she loves to rile him up when he arrives on her doorstep at night to tell her to turn the music down.
I was so excited to see Declan’s book and could not wait for it. He was always so serious in the previous books, and it was great to see a different side of him. He was such a kind-hearted and loyal guy so seeing him relax and have fun was awesome. Liz was the ideal complement to him, and they balanced each other perfectly. I loved watching their slow-burning love grow as they came to know and understand each other. This was another wonderful story by Ms. Hagen and one I highly recommend.
