Between late night confessions and three more smoking hot kisses—not that I'm counting—I start wondering if he's really faking everything.

I'm certainly way past pretending.

Soon after, Dom admits that he wants to date me… me, Reese Maxwell, for real!

 

But my heart isn't allowed to make any decisions anymore.

My review:

Cherish Me Forever is the eighth and final book in The Maxwell Brothers series. This has been an amazing series, and I really love the Maxwell family, so I am extremely sad to see it come to an end.  This was Reese’s story, and it was the perfect book to end the series with.  

“You showed me what happiness feels like, Reese. Utter and complete happiness.  I didn’t think it was possible or that it existed at all…”

Reese’s ex-fiancé has been a thorn in her side since they broke up two years ago when she caught him with her best friend.  Upset from seeing him, she tells Dom, a complete stranger, about her breakup.  She’s shocked when he suggests they pretend to be dating. 

Dom wasn’t sure why he suggested they pretend to date.  His divorce just got finalized and he had sworn off relationships for the near future.  But something about Reese captivated him and drew him. 

Although I am sad to see the ending of the series, this was the perfect book to wrap it up.  It was full of all the emotions, family drama, and all the “feel goods” I have come to expect from Mrs. Hagen’s books. I hope we get to see the Maxwells again.

As we scout a location for a new hotel in Aspen, things really come to a head—just not in the way I imagined. When our reservations get mixed up and we end up in the same room—sharing one bed—Drake confesses that he crashed my date because he couldn’t stand seeing me with another man. He wants me all for himself. 

 I don’t want to want him. Besides, the hotel needs him, and so does my family. But as I give in to the temptation that is Drake DuGray, things get deliciously complicated… in more ways than one.

Tempt Me Forever is the seventh book in The Maxwell Brothers series.  Now that all the brothers are married, it is Kimberly and Reese's turn.  I was excited to learn more about Kimberly finally.  In the previous books she lived overseas so we didn’t see her as much.  She has finally returned to the U.S. and is helping Travis with his hotels. 

Returning to Chicago to help his sister, Drake DuGray took the position as the general manager position for the Maxwell Hotels.  He is used to working for big corporate chains so working with the Maxwell family is different.  Falling for Kimberly Maxwell complicates things and breaks all his rules.

Kimberly Maxwell knows falling for someone at work is a bad idea.  Her last relationship proved it.  But Drake is too tempting especially when they must share a bed when there is an error in their hotel rooms on their trip to see another property.

This was another great Maxwell story.  I am a little sad that we only have one single Maxwell left but I cannot wait for Reese’s book.

My review:

Love Me Forever is the fourth book in The Maxwell Brothers by Layla Hagen, who is one of my favorite authors. Her books are low angst, straightforward, and have genuine, loveable characters. The Maxwell family has become one of my favorite series and I can never get enough of them.  I love all the family drama and banter between the siblings.  This is Travis and Bonnie’s story and one I could not wait to read.

Travis and Bonnie have a fling for a week after meeting one another.  Travis had to return home to Chicago where he was opening a resort.  After Bonnie discovers she is pregnant and cannot reach Travis, fate has them meeting again.  Will Travis reconsider his future and change his mind about having a relationship?

I love the Maxwell family series and the books just keep getting better! The characters were genuine, the pacing was perfect, and it was well-written. I highly recommend it and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
