A sexy, new forbidden romance from USA Today bestselling author Alexa Padgett.
For the first time in years, I want…
I want Knox Wright. My best friend’s brother, my boss…the man who breaks my still-shattered heart.
Knox was a college hockey legend and, now, he’s one of the most successful architects in decades. I was the new hire whose desperate need to move on from that night drove me to succeed.
I never should have accepted the position, not once I looked into Knox Wright’s eyes and felt the heat deep in my belly…but I did. Because Knox makes me feel alive. And as I fall under Knox’s spell, our relationship turns intense and deep…and secret. When our affair runs the risk of being exposed, I face a far more intimate betrayal than I ever expected.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars
My review:
Arrogant Architect is the second book in The Wright Family
series, but it was acceptable reading it as a stand-alone. Although I do think the books might overlap
the same time frame. The book was
fast-paced, easy to read, and could be read in one sitting.
Knox Wright was a hockey player legend but left it behind to
work in the family’s architecture firm.
The firm is hiring someone to help when his sister Aidy goes on
maternity leave. He was immediately
fascinated by Emmaline Schooler when his brother Nico and Knox interviewed
her. She was the best candidate for the
job, but he knew the no dating within the firm policy meant he would need to
stay away. Falling for her became impossible
but the policy was not the only thing holding him back from pursuing Emmaline.
Emmaline lost her parents and her future with Sebastian her
fiancé in one sweep from an accident.
The only people left in her life were Sebastian’s grandmother Ellie and
his brother Josh. She has slowly been
allowing people into her life but is not looking for any relationships. The attraction she feels for Knox blindsides
her, but she wants the job too much to be sidetracked by him. She has serious issues with allowing people
close due to her fear of losing a loved one again.
I have not read many books by this author but the ones I
have read I’ve enjoyed. I look forward
to the next book in the series because Nico has such a harsh view of women it
will be interesting to see him fall for someone special.
I received an ARC and am willingly leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Alexa Padgett's books have garnered accolades from Kirkus Reviews, National Indie Excellence Awards, The Romance Reviews, and Readers' Favorites. Her last few novels have been added to several Goodreads Best lists.
Alexa spent a good part of her youth traveling. From Budapest to Belize, Calgary to Coober Pedy, she soaked in the myriad smells, sounds, and feels of these gorgeous places, wishing she could live in them all--at least for a while. And she does in her books.
She lives in New Mexico with her husband, children, and Great Pyrenees pup, Ash. When not writing, schlepping, or volunteering, she can be found in her tiny kitchen, channeling her inner Barefoot Contessa.
