Paige had lost hope a long time ago. Now she only relies on herself, but she would do anything to save Finn from growing up as she did. She was working several jobs to provide and take care of Finn but was still struggling. She was running out of options and desperate.
Slade notices Paige at a party being escorted by his father, with whom he has a strained relationship. Slade hides his pain behind a façade of a rich, arrogant businessman. Paige sets off emotions that are new and terrifying for him. Once he lets his mind get past the barriers he has, he is all in.
The chemistry between the two is instant, but both have secrets. They’ve both built walls around their hearts which slowly crumble as they start to see under the other’s exterior.
This was a new-to-me author, and I found the book to be easy to read and well written. It was an instant love/boss-employee romance with charming characters. They had multiple layers and were genuine. It was fast-paced and could easily be read in one sitting. I look forward to reading future books from this author.

Meet Prescott Lane
Prescott Lane is the USA TODAY best-selling author of ALL MY LIFE. She's written several other romance books with strong heroines and swoon-worthy heroes. She is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a degree in sociology and an MSW from Tulane University.
