My review:

A Chance for Us is the fourth book in the Willow Creek Valley by Corinne Michaels.  The books can be read as stand-alone but once you read one you will want to read them all!  I have adored the Parkerson family since I read the first book and each book just gets better and better.  After reading about Oliver’s painful past in the previous books, I was so excited to see his story and him get his happy ever after.  He has such a big heart but after two women he loved left him for another, he built walls to protect himself.  He was caught between protecting his own heart and helping Maren.  Her love for her father and his last wish to see her married before he died drove her to come up with the plan to ask Oliver to be her fake husband.  I loved seeing their friendship and real romance grow during the time they were preparing for their fake wedding.  I highly recommend this book and I am sad to see the end of the series.  I hope to see the Parkerson family again in future series.

My review:

A Moment for Us is the third book in the Willow Creek Valley by Corinne Michaels.  I recently discovered this author and read this book as a standalone which was fine.  I enjoyed meeting the other characters from the previous books and the Parkerson siblings.  This book definitely caught my attention from the beginning and kept it until the end.  It was fast-paced, had many layers, and had a solid plotline.  In the beginning, I didn’t like Joshua, but after he reveals his tragic loss I came to understand his feelings and actions.  He put a lot of blame on himself and feared his love would cause Delia more pain.  I was so glad to see him come to terms with his past and look towards his future with Delia.  This was a beautiful story that was touching and full of emotions.  I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

My review:

You Loved Me Once is an emotional stand-alone romance.  This was a new-to-me author and I enjoyed getting to read it.  It was fast-paced, well-written, and the storyline was developed.  The characters were dimensional with genuine conflicts, guilt, and regrets.  

Serenity Adam was passionate about her job-fighting cancer.  In order to protect herself from being hurt, she allows no one close, even in her personal life.  She has had a casual relationship with Dr. Westin Grant a neurosurgeon at her hospital for a few years.  She keeps her guard up and does not allow him to get too close.  Westin wants their relationship to become more and when Serenity finally starts to allow him in her past comes to haunt her.  During a new clinical trial, one of her patients in the study is married to her ex-fiancée.  She struggles with herself on allowing the woman to remain in the trial and against her better judgment she allows her in.  She puts her integrity, career, and her relationship in jeopardy with her decision.  When her choices are revealed will Westin forgive her?

Even though I do not agree with Serenity’s actions I think her heart was in the right place.  It was a heart-breaking story and I loved seeing Serenity finally open up and realize that she loves Westin.  Westin was understanding and patient with Serenity.  In the end, he supported her even though his career was on the line also.  I enjoyed the book and look forward to future books from the author.
