I’m her brother's best friend, and for the past ten years, I've
also been Addison McKenzie’s dirty little secret.
My pro-hockey player lifestyle kept me from her, but I thought we had a good
thing going. Burning up the sheets whenever I visited home worked well for us.
Or so I thought.
When a season-ending injury sends me back to Starlight Cove, I find
out she thinks of me as nothing more than a mistake.
She’s trying her hardest to ignore my presence, but being snowed in
together is making that difficult.
So is sharing a bed.
Old habits die hard, and it’s no surprise we fall right back into
each other. Undeniable chemistry was never our problem, though. Making it last
in the real world was.
But I’ve been in love with Addison for years. And I have no
intention of giving up on us now.
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
My review:
“I have a wife. I’m
just not married. If I had my way, I’d
already have Addison McKenzie’s Husband plastered on the back of my jerseys.”
Pro hockey player Chase Lockhart returns home to Starlight
Cove to recuperate after an injury and reconnect with the woman he has always
loved. He and Addie have hidden their
relationship for years, but he is tired of hiding it. With his hockey career up in the air, he has
several life-changing decisions to make.
Being the youngest of six children and the only girl meant
Addie had to learn how to stand up for herself at an early age. She loves her family’s resort and has worked
hard to bring it back to life. She
doesn’t see how Chase and she could have a future when they lived so far apart.
This book was awesome and I loved every minute of it. There is only one single McKenzie left and it
sounds like Levi’s book will be an entertaining one. I cannot wait for it, although I will be sad
to see the series end. I highly
recommend this book to anyone who loves small-town romances and large-family
drama.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
