Wes didn’t just taunt me by bringing up our past, he wanted us to go all the way back to where we started.

Back to when we were nine and I was just the girl next door who snuck into his treehouse.

Back to when he’d fight the boys who made me cry.

I had to remember Wes wanted to claim my father’s property, not me.

I walked away once, I just had to prove I was strong enough to do it again.

Growing up Callie “River,” the daughter of an MC president, had always felt like her dad put the club before her.  After meeting Wesley, she was afraid he would be sucked into the club life, and she would lose him.  She made him promise he wouldn’t but when Callie disappears, he must decide between becoming a member to help find her or possibly losing Callie.  But in the end, he lost her anyway when she left.  Callie only returns home for her father’s funeral, but his will gets her entangled in club politics with a target on her back.  

“You were a little thief, sneaking in and taking my heart, staking a claim to my entire future.”

“You need to know that you were my sun, Callie. Everything since has just been cloud cover and rain. I’ve learned how to live with it, but I’ve been miserable every day since.”

Where We Started is the first book in the Stone Ridge MC series and it blew me away!  I am fairly new to this author’s work, but the blurb sounded interesting, so I wanted to read it.  I expected the typical MC story, but this book was much more!  It was such an emotional rollercoaster; it gutted me one moment and then had me smiling the next. I loved watching Wesley and Callie get their second chance.

I look forward to future books by the author and hopefully more of this series.
