Series: Montgomery Ink Legacy #3
Longtime
Crush is the third book in the Montgomery Ink series, and I just cannot get
enough of these Montgomery boys. Every
book gets better, and I love getting to revisit with everyone from earlier
books. This is Sebastian Montgomery and
Raven’s heartbreaking story. We met
Sebastian in At First Meet when he was nineteen and expecting a baby with his
eighteen-year-old girlfriend Marley.
The prologue
of this book goes back to when Marley dies during childbirth and Sebastian
becomes a father. The first chapter
takes us forward five years after Marley’s death where Sebastian is a single
father raising his daughter, Nora, with his family’s help.
As children
Raven, Marley, and Sebastian were best friends and did everything
together. It was in middle school that
Raven fell in love with Sebastian but gave up on that dream when he fell in
love with their best friend Marley.
After high school, Raven left town to find herself but returns home to
open Latte on the Rocks, a bakery and coffee shop. Only to discover her
neighbor is Sebastian and she might not have gotten over that crush after
all.
“This wasn’t
the family I thought I’d have, but it was the family I had now, the family that
was exactly what I wanted.”
“…a human
was able to love more than one person.
They were able to open up their heart as full as they needed to. Marley was my past, Raven and Nora were my
future”
This is one
of those books you want to have a box of tissues close by. I was so teary-eyed during the Prologue and
my heart went out to Sebastian when his entire world was turned upside
down. He was sweet, protective, and a
great father. I was so happy when he
finally realized he could love Raven without it weakening the love he had for
Marley. This was a beautiful story of
Sebastian’s journey of second-chance love, family, and grief. I loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
