FEARLESS HEART by Brighton Walsh

Quinn Cartwright sees me as nothing more than her rival...her enemy. But I’ve been obsessed with her since we were teenagers. She's gorgeous and brilliant with a tongue sharp enough to cut glass…and she has no idea I love it as much as I do.

So when she needs someone to put a ring on it because of her a-hole boss, I marry her without hesitation.

We draw up a contract on a napkin. This marriage might be fake, but no one in our small town has to know.

She may never see me as anything more than a playboy, but sleeping in the same bed together night after night makes me want to put my skills to use and prove just how good this fake marriage can be…

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

My review:

This enemies to lover’s small-town romance, Fearless Heart, is the third book in the Starlight Cove series.  This has been a great series and I looked forward to Beck’s book.  It was well written, and the pacing was perfect.  The characters were all likable and I especially loved Mabel, one of the town’s busybodies.  She provided many laughs with her outrageous escapades.

Beck had been obsessed with Quinn in high school and nothing had changed in the ten years since she had left town.  When she moves back to Starlight Cove and needs a husband to purchase the town’s practice, he didn’t hesitate.  Can he convince Quinn to make their fake marriage real?

Quinn moved back to her hometown, Starlight Cove, to work at Dr. Dinsmore’s family practice.  She hopes to purchase it once he retires but he informs her he has no intention of selling the practice to her since she was a single female.  She will do whatever is necessary to achieve her goal; even marry her childhood enemy.

I loved watching the dynamics of Quinn and Beck’s relationship change.  I loved all their hilarious bantering and seeing them slowly see each other for who they were.  Quinn had tried to make her parents proud but finally realized nothing she did was going to change their views.  Her self-esteem was so low so seeing her grow and become more confident in herself was wonderful.  Beck made me swoon with all his understanding and support for Quinn.  I enjoyed this book and like all of Ms. Walsh’s books; the ending left me smiling.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Meet Brighton Walsh

USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love—writing.

She likes her books how she likes her tea—steamy and satisfying—and adores strong-willed heroines and the protective heroes who fall head over heels for them.

Brighton lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—one who’s already taller than her and one who’s catching up too fast—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it’s mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible.
