My review:

Love after Us is the Second book in the Covert Affairs Duet, part of A Decker Family series.  This is the first book with the Decker second generations of characters and Seth Bradley and Theodore (Teddy) St. James’ story.  Seth is the son of Ainsley Decker and Mason Bradley from Suddenly Broken and Suddenly Us in the Unexpected Everlasting Duet.  I highly recommend you read the duets in the reading order the author has provided.  There are some potential triggers in the book so please read the content notes if you have concerns.

This duet has more intrigue and action than the previous duets, so the cliffhanger from the first book was brutal.  It left us hanging with Teddy and Seth being ambushed while they are on the run.  This book picks up when Seth becomes conscious, and Teddy and Piper, Seth’s cousin, is missing.  Seth makes a deal with his enemy’s enemy to rescue Teddy from Zamudio in exchange for him helping them with a mission.  After being rescued, Teddy is tormented by her memories of captivity and must work her way through her anxiety and PTSD.   Can they find their way to a future together?

I really enjoyed the Covert Affairs Duet and loved getting to revisit some of the previous characters.  Teddy and Seth had known each other from childhood but never dived deep into each other’s lives.  I love how the author used the texts and emails between Teddy and Seth to strengthen their friendship and deepened their love. The book was well written, and an unpredictable twist for Piper is thrown into the story.  I can’t wait for the next book!
