Blurb:
Karma is a… she’s not nice.
It’s been ten long years since Jacob and I parted ways.
I moved on… well, at least I thought I did.
That was until I’m asked to clean the image of Jacob Decker.
Rockstar, playboy, womanizer JC Decker.
He’s spoiled, rude, and inappropriate.
I shouldn’t take the job, but I need the money.
I swallow my pride and work for him.
Closely.
Too close.
That’s when I uncover the wounds he hides.
The scars underneath his dismissive attitude.
And his shattered heart.
Can I just walk away when I’m about to find the man I once loved?
Strangers In Love is the conclusion of the highly angsty Somehow Everlasting novel.
My review:
“… since the first time I laid eyes on you, our souls entwined with each other. They interweaved together like the roots of a redwood tree’s grasp onto the ground…That day my heart recognized its lifetime partner, and from that point forward it tuned to the rhythm of your beat.”
“Some love stories are written in the stars. Others…. make timeless music.”
Seriously, this
is an amazing duet! I have read it twice
now because once I finished the first time, I just had to have more. This is the second book in the Somehow
Everlasting Duet (Decker family). If you
thought the first book was emotional, just wait because the final book is a
true roller-coaster for your emotions. I
finally gave up on wiping my eyes and just let the tears run down my face
because it was a worthless effort.
“I’m here
to show everyone that they don’t know you, Jacob, and maybe, while I’m here, I’ll
help you find that guy you lost somewhere along the way. You didn’t lose your dreams, Jacob. You lost yourself.”
“The key is
thinking how magnificent it is to spend the day with the ones you love, making
them happy, and being happy with them.
Not on focusing on how little you might have left with them.”
This book picks up when Jacob Decker and Pria (Ana) Walker meet again several years later. Jacob has gone on to become a rockstar with a bad reputation. After Pria left, Jacob’s life fell apart and he lived in darkness. Pria is hired to clean up his reputation. After they separated, Jacob and Pria journeys in life were heartbreaking but they finally were reunited. Has their love for each other come to an end or can they overcome all the tragedies and hurts they have gone through to get to this point?
I loved this
book and highly recommend it. Even
though it broke my heart, I will certainly be reading it again in the future.
I received
an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
