Close is the second book in the Madigan Mountain series. I read it as a standalone and had no trouble
following along. It was a heartbreaking
story of broken family relationships, painful pasts, and slow burning
romance.
The Madigan family’s
relationship was rocky and after graduating high school Weston Madigan left
home to join the Army as a helicopter pilot.
When his brother calls, he cannot refuse the request to help his family out
by starting up a heli-skiing company at the family ski resort. He leaves the Army and returns home but
refuses to stay at the family home. He
finds himself sharing a duplex with the woman he rescued and hired ten years previously
before he left.
Callie
Thorne was surprised to discover the man who gave her a chance and hired her
ten years prior in her kitchen. She and
her daughter Sutton lived there since she was the photographer at Madigan
Mountains resort. Her goal was to grow
her photography business and buy a house.
Callie and
Weston made the perfect couple and the chemistry between them was off the
charts. I loved watching their relationship
grow as they came to know one another. It
was great seeing the brother’s relationship improve as they dealt with the hurt
from the past. I really enjoyed this
book and recommend it.
