Book Blurb:‘Tis the season… For unexpected love!
Officer Jonathan Maxwell is just as devoted to his job as he is to his two young daughters, leaving zero time for a social life. Until he meets Brooke Novak. The newly hired community center director is a single parent, too, and also part of his latest investigation. Jonathan needs Brooke’s help if he’s going to close his case by Thanksgiving…but she might be the biggest distraction from keeping his mind on his job.

My review:
The Single
Dad’s Holiday Match is the first book in the Smoky Mountain First Responders
series. This was a new-to-me author, and
I am so glad I got a chance to read this book.
It was so emotional and encouraging.
Single mom Brooke
Novak had been let down by so many people, but she stills has such a positive
outlook. She believes in the good of
people even though she has had a rough life.
She has raised her son by herself, finished college, and now has a job
she loves in Hollydale. She wants to
help the community by improving the community center and she has a heart of
gold. It was hard for her to allow herself
to open up again after being whispered about in her small hometown when she
became pregnant. She slowly starts to
feel comfortable and part of something with the warm welcoming from her aunt
and her friends.
Widower Jonathan
Maxwell is raising his two daughters after losing his wife five years ago. He moved back to Hollydale to be near his
family and took a position as a police officer. He was previously a detective
and wanted to return to the position.
Town politics could keep him from getting the position but if he solves
this case, it will improve his chances.
I love how
dedicated Jonathan is to his family and job.
He is determined to be more active in his children’s lives than his
parents were in his. The chemistry
between Jonathan and Brooke was there from the beginning but trust and conflict
from the case kept them from going all in.
I loved meeting all the people who live in the small-town of Hollydale and
look forward to discovering more books by Tanya Agler.
I received
an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
