From Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.
The Bull Rider’s Fresh Start was a sweet and heart-touching
romance. This was a new-to-me author, and I was pleasantly surprised by how
well-written it was. It was an
emotionally clean romance of faith, hope, second chances, and forgiveness. The main characters were easy to connect with
and had realistic issues.
Landon Chambers was a former bull rider who was a recovering
pill addict. Taking care of Adeline, a
nine-month-old baby girl was not something he would have signed up for but with
the death of his best friend and wife, Landon was the only option. Landon met Kelsey Sinclair who was a Navy
diver stationed in Hawaii at his best friend’s wedding. After spending a night with her, he left the
next morning with only a note. Now he
discovers he has a daughter, and he needs to prove to Kelsey he can be relied
upon. Before Kelsey must report back to
base, they must come to an agreement about Adeline’s care.
Kelsey’s father had been an addict and he had let her down
too many times. She was afraid to trust
Landon to take good care of Adeline when she returned to the Navy. Landon wanted another chance with Kelsey but
had to prove to her that he could be counted on. It broke my heart knowing that Kelsey had to
leave her baby and not see her for months.
Her concerns were reasonable, and I loved seeing Landon patiently
reassuring her. He knew he had made many
mistakes in his past and had to earn her trust.
This was a beautiful story of second chances and faith. I would certainly recommend reading it.
