His dad lives right next to my mom, and after the two of them suffered an unexplained accident while taking down holiday decorations, both Ryan and I were forced to become the only thirtysomething residents of Sunny Creek Village Independent SeniorLiving Community.

Temporarily moving in might seem like overkill for a fractured tailbone and a severely pulled groin muscle, but believe me, when your mom is as wild as mine and your dad is as cantankerous as Ryan’s, they need supervision to ensure they stick to doctor’s orders.

Wow! This was seriously the most hilarious book ever and it started before the first chapter with the warning!  I’m not sure if it is because I am experiencing these things with my own mom so I can relate but I laughed so hard.  (So, beware of the bladder incontinence warning.)  It started an enemy to lover trope and ended as an opposite attraction rom-com.  The entire group of Sunny Creek Village characters added fun and entertainment to the story.  They were hilarious and full of spunk.

Ryan and Carly were exact opposites but were able to commiserate with each other over their parent’s shenanigans.  I loved how Carly was able to get Ryan to let go and live life.  The author leaves us with a potential match between another couple of opposite personalities.  I loved this book and hope to read many more future books with the Sunny Creek Village characters.
